I get so many of these stupid winning numbers lottery scams, I have decided to make them secondary filler posts, under the more interesting posts from scammers.
Nokia? Really? We are to believe big companies actually run lotteries. Lotteries that collect NO money, but pay out big bucks.....REALLY!?!

My Reply:
Hi,
Why is a Japanese company paying out in British Pounds? No seriously. Plus, why would a capitalistic company ever run a lottery where I don't have to buy a ticket?
Think this stuff through before you embarrass yourself by e-mailing this crap out.

So, while I was putting together "Mark James Part III", this came back to me. Guess they shut down operations pretty quickly.

Thnaks for the update, MysticalOne.
Well, that is strange, isn't it....maybe I should re-reply.....but then I'd have to talk to lame lottery scammers. LOL
Awww, and I was hoping it was for real!
1,000,000 Great British Pounds would have solved so many problems for me!
So glad I checked it out first!
Nice one Rob.

OMG, i actually fell for it and have given my name address and contact number out...does anyone know what'll happen to me nw, can they get my bank details or anything?
Too bad we couldn't send them a virus with our responses. People like this piss me off - haven't they got better things to do? I hope they go to e-mail hell.
I was glad when I saw the winning notification of $850,000.00, but when I rang into their tel no. I was shoked, the number was invalid. I got 5 winning notification in the same day.
There is nobody who can stop this bastards? It is my humble request to the owner of this site that plz mail globally to all the users of yahoo, rediff, sify that plz don't be foolish from this scammers.

Sujit_Roy, this is the best way to get scammers, with a public blog.
Mailing globally? You mean spam people? That goes against EVERYTHING I believe in. Spam is the junk mail of the internet. Scams are the criminal junk mail of the internet. I don't really hold either in high regard.
And, your now 3 comments, which I have posted just one, are making me suspicious of your intent.
Anon,
unless you gave them your bank account numbers, you are probably safe....unless they are not too lazy to do a little identity theft. Not sure if name, address, phone is enough, but any info you give them is potentially bad.

I just received this same "notification" too, only mine came from the desk of Dr. Mrs. Darryn Clarke, nokia@peoplepc.co.uk. and says to reply to ctmrjameskeegan@jmail.co.za
I always check on mails like this and refuse to fall victim to them.
Other than just posting here, is there any official agency that handles these matters?
Sadly, I think the countries that these jerks come from don't care (or more accurately, don't have the resources) to go after these criminals.
What is this?
I got one from Mr. Jerry Strickland at Nokia Online Promotions. The claim officer is Linda Peterson - lipeters2008@live.com. Response email is result_notification@nokiaonlinepromo.com.
Watch out!
Here is the one i just got dec 15 2008
